Thunder @ Rockets (MAX PLAY)
Updated: Aug 29
Russell Westbrook is playing in game 5.
As I called days ago, Chrissy Paul and the Thunder have officially rattled the Rockets. All momentum has shifted toward the Thunder and they look like the team we saw all season.
Since Chris Paul said he simply needs to be better last week, he has looked sensational down the stretch of games when he's needed most. I don't know what has gotten into me. I'm such a big Thunder fan I'm considering moving to Oklahoma.
The Rockets have forced Russ back and this is the last thing they wanted. Not only does this affect Russell Westbrook's long term health throughout the playoffs it affects the team in this series. Even though Russ is playing he’ll be on a minutes restriction and will disrupt the team's offense right now. Despite these last two games where the Rockets just couldn't get it done, they caught a rhythm with Russell out. Those first two games they literally rained down a storm of beautiful 3s on the Thunder and ran a perfect zone defense. I don’t know what to expect from a Rockets team with this explosive high volume shooting point guard that's not full healthy, but what do I know he could be. Would Russell Westbrook be the reason the Rockets somehow made it to the finals, yes, but as of right now the Rockets to me are in a lose lose situation and should pray for the best. Russ plays he possibly disrupts things, Russ doesn't play the Thunder might pull off another win and go up 3-2.
The Rockets in no way shape or form should lose this series. No excuses, they have to get it done, especially with Russ playing now.
This series is something I waited for all year the second people realized the Thunder are decent. I love this revenge series and I am rooting my ass off for Chris Paul and the Thunder.
Dennis Schroder, Shai Gilgeous Alexander, and Chris Paul are my family and they are the sickest guards in the NBA.
The Thunder and the points are gonna be an actual mortgage play, but I have become so emotionally invested in this Thunder team that I'm considering staying away.
